description: The Scriptures are clear about the experience of physical death declaring that the dead know nothing (Ecclesiastes 9:5, Job 7:9). But there are many people who have become persuaded of a false narrative, in which reports of hundreds of people claim to have experienced near death experiences where they went up to Paradise or to the gates of hell where they had conversations with Hitler. Near death experiences can perhaps be accounted for by dream activity, especially the REM activity occurring 4 to 5 times a night. Some dreams can be attributed to God (Job 33) and some dreams can be inflicted by demonic activity, as Saul envisioning Samuel having come out of the grave (I Samuel 28:38), certainly prompted by the work of Satan and his demons. Only God's word can shine the light on the truth, dispelling the veracity of so-called near-death experiences.
