description: Satan's few lying words motivated Adam and Eve to sin, acts which have impacted all of humanity until now (except for Jesus Christ). The world's proclivity to lie has been directly motivated by Satan the devil. The American liberal media uses carefully crafted doublespeak calling murder 'choice' and attacks on abortion as 'war on women,' continually shaping the progressive secularist mindset. The liberal left-wing media gushed over Nelson Mandela, a despicable Marxist terrorist. We must guard ourselves from the poisoned propaganda of the mainstream media.

Proverbs 15:23 A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

Proverbs 25:11 adds,

Proverbs 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

Both of these scriptures have applications to one of the major conclusions of my commentary given last week. Mere words had a major impact in radically changing America's political and religious orientation. The first of these Proverbs has application to not just the fitting words said, but its timing when it is said, when rightly done, produces much. The second proverb has less to do with the timing and more to do with being a fitting, apt, or accurate remark.

The sense of both of them is, on the surface, positive, but nonetheless, they can apply to evil things, too. It is to what end, whether good or evil, to which the words are fitting that in the long run, that is what matters. In other words, some words that are fitting might be fitting to evil purposes.

I do not want to overplay the conclusion that all it took to produce the massive changes that occurred in the United States politically and in civic life were just the right words, spoken at just the right times, in just the right circumstances by just the right people. Words are influential because they give direction or motivation or explanation within events or circumstances in one's life. They are dynamic. They do things to our thinking, and therefore, our actions too, for good or evil.

There is no better illustration for this than Adam's and Eve's sins. Satan's words had an impact so that Eve was deceived into doing an evil act. Adam, though not deceived, followed her and sinned as well. Satan's few lying words have impacted everyone born since, except for Jesus Christ. That's quite an impact.

We must not forget that God says—just before Satan utters those words—that Satan is more cunning than any beast of the field now. Jesus says, though, in John 8:44 that when Satan speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources for he is a liar and the father of it. This world's proclivity for lying is derived from their spiritual father, Satan.

It's not hard to identify who is inspiring the government of this nation and their disciples in the media. Americans have been lied to so consistently for so long by so many in government, business, education, and in the churches, that a recent poll showed that only one third of Americans trust their fellow Americans. The fruit of lying is a fearful distrust of being taken advantage of.

Last week, I gave you a quote from one Chris Farrell. He's the author of a report on the subversion of America that, whether by the Soviet Communists or the present-day Muslim jihadists, their operating principle is deception. These people in these positions lie to hide an agenda that they are accomplishing. President Obama has lied frequently to the American people, and those lies have been captured and preserved on film as well as on tape as evidence. He has lied 36 times on just one subject alone, and that is that we can keep our present insurance coverage when switching to Obamacare. He has done this to hide, and at the same time, to sell his Obamacare agenda. This lying was not a mere oversight or a slip of the tongue. He knew what he was doing. The lying was deliberate, even as Satan's lying was deliberate.

What is so disturbing is that he has a very cooperative media enabling him to do this. They rarely call him into account for anything, let alone his blatant lying. And the lying is not limited to this administration. It thoroughly saturated both the Clinton and Bush administrations as well.

Our government and their companions in the liberal media are very careful about the terms they use to shade public opinion. For example, the Affordable Care Act, the Department of Homeland Security, the Patriot Act, and even Social Security, are so named to make them sound like public charities. "Don't worry, the government is taking care of you." They are no such thing. They are government programs forced on us in the government's interest. And, of course, they get tax money as a result of these things. It's in their interest that they are doing this.

Then there are terms like "progressive," "war on women," "hate crimes," "homophobic," and "anti- immigration." They are used to label persons and their thoughts, to categorize certain issues and people, as being "uncaring" and "not one of us"—that is, not on the same side as the media. And then, on the other hand, there is "moderate," "pluralist," "liberal," "civil libertarian," "pragmatic," and "enlightened," used to slant one's thoughts toward "acceptable to us." And how about the terms, "right-wing," "fundamentalist," "pro-life," "absolutist," "deeply religious," used to label one as "not one of us; not to be trusted"?

Feminists quickly learned that in order to win the debate regarding abortion, they had to loudly—and with the help of media—emphasize the word "choice." Not "murder," not "death," but "choice." Homosexuals learned to deflect sex as their issue, and instead emphasized "rights" for themselves, and to label their enemies as "homophobic." Sigmund Freud—everybody has heard of him—said this: "Groups are subject to the truly magical power of words." He knew a thing or two.

in the recent Duck Dynasty flap, Mr. Robertson was immediately labeled "homophobic" by the media. That term means, "fear of people who engage in same-sex sex." Now, Jesus said, "Truth makes one free." Mr. Robertson does not fear homosexuals; he fears for them—that is, for their well-being, considering the direction of their lives.

When Nelson Mandela died, the liberal media gushed as though the most saintly of men had just passed from the scene. But Jesus hit the nail right on the head when He said, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called benefactors." The word "benefactors" literally means, "a well doer." Here is a brief overview of what this well doer, Mandela, did:

First of all, he was an out-and-out Marxist. He was an enemy of the Israelitish people. Marxists are well-known for their murderous and enslaving rule of others. He was a convicted terrorist, and when the South African government nailed him with an airtight case against him, he pled guilty. He had nowhere else to turn to a long, long list of hideous acts—over 60 charges against him, including indiscriminate bombings that killed innocent men, women, and children, and crippled many. Even Amnesty International, one of the most liberal groups in the world, refused to take his case to defend him. If he had been tried in America or Britain at that time, he would have been given a death penalty. He was the author of a book he himself entitled How to Be a Good Communist. He never repented, even when he was offered release from prison if he would renounce his acts of violence.

But today, the Western media is so prejudiced by an evil agenda, and so twisted in its judgment of right and wrong, good and evil, that they completely whitewash his evil past as though it never existed.

How can we expect the liberal media to give us truth when, collectively, their judgments are so perverted? The only place that one can get fairly good reporting of what is going on is from the Internet. Today's media is being used to attempt eradication of our liberties in Jesus Christ. To protect these liberties given us, we need to continue trusting God's truths while learning to correctly analyze who is motivating the words, and what and how the labels being used are really saying.
