description: We must follow the precedent set by the prophet Micah the practice of remembering God's faithfulness, a practice also supported by neuroscience. For example, the hippocampus strengthens memory, also releasing dopamine to produce joy and motivation. The prefrontal cortex processes and reframes prior difficulties, enabling believers to trust in God's plan. Micah 6 presents God's faithful acts of deliverance, providence, and protection, urging Israel to recall His righteousness, providing a template for us to remember our calling, God's continual guidance, and His largely unseen work in our lives. Micah emphasizes that true devotion does not constitute extravagant sacrifice, but in doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with Almighty God. In our self-evaluation, we must remember God's faithfulness, commandments, grace, and plan, recognizing those areas in which we have fallen short, inspiring us to live righteously for the One who has given us everything.
